Demolition and site restoration works were carried out by the Planning Authority against a hardware company in Mukim Sengkurong during a two-day Operasi Roboh, following the company’s failure to comply with an Enforcement Notice and nine warnings issued under the Town and Country Planning Act, Chapter 248.
The company was found to have constructed storage facilities and used walkway areas, parking bays, landscaped land and the driveway to display goods for sale without Planning Permission.

Enforcement action was carried out pursuant to Section 39(1)(a) of the Act, empowering the Authority to enter the site and undertake necessary measures, including demolition, restoration works and removal of property located on the land.
The Authority said all costs and expenses incurred in executing the enforcement action will be recovered from the company as a civil debt.
It emphasised that strict action will continue against parties who fail to comply with planning laws, advising premises owners to obtain the required planning permission before carrying out development or land use activities.
Members of the public may contact the Town and Country Planning Department hotline at 8200 222 for complaints or planning-related advice.
