A Malaysian man was fined BND19,200 after being convicted of possessing contraband alcohol without a valid permit.
Andy Wong Kwong Heng, 34, will serve 13 months’ imprisonment in default of payment of the fine.
He was charged under Section 146(1)(d) of the Excise Order 2006.
Sitting in the Temburong Magistrate’s Court, Magistrate Syaffina Shahif heard that the offence took place on May 21, 2026 at the arrival section of the Ujung Jalan Control and Inspection Complex, Temburong.
A total of 120 bottles of alcoholic beverages were seized during the operation.All seized items were ordered to be forfeited and handed over to the Government for disposal.
